Whistleblower Protection
The Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers of the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter referred to as the Law) establishes a protection mechanism for individuals who have provided information about a violation in an institution with which they have or had service, employment, or contractual relations. The Law also defines the rights and obligations of individuals who report violations in institutions, the grounds and forms of their legal protection, as well as measures for the protection, encouragement, and assistance of these individuals, aiming to create appropriate opportunities to report legal violations that threaten or infringe upon the public interest, and to ensure the prevention and disclosure of such violations.
The description of the procedure for providing and handling information through the internal channel for reporting violations at the Kaunas Regional Waste Management Center establishes the procedure for providing, registering, examining, and storing information about possible planned, committed, or ongoing violations at the Kaunas Regional Waste Management Center through the internal channel for reporting violations, ensuring the confidentiality of the content of the information and other data that could identify the person who provided the information about the violation.
A person can submit a report about a violation by:
- submitting a completed and signed violation report form.
- submitting a signed free-form report indicating that it is submitted in accordance with the Law.
A person can submit a report through the internal channel by the following means:
- via email: pranesk@kaunoratc.lt
- by visiting the institution directly to a competent authority.
- sending the report by mail to the address Pramonės pr. 4A, Kaunas (the envelope must be marked “To the competent authority personally”)
Confidentiality will be ensured for the person who provided information about the violation.
