Kaunas Regional Waste Management Centre informs (hereinafter – Kauno RATC) – The green waste composting site in Zabieliškis village (Kėdainiai district) offers residents a chance to buy high-quality, natural compost made from green waste collected by residents and greenkeepers in the region.
The compost is thoroughly tested, with each batch being subject to quality tests. According to Kaunas RATC specialists, Compost is rich in elements that are important for plants: nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other trace elements. It improves soil structure, retains moisture, ensures air permeability, increases fertility and, above all, has no side effects.
Up to 25 tonnes of compost per person per year. The compost is sold loose, so residents can pile it themselves – in trailers, bags, buckets or any other available container. It is important to make sure you have the right transport, and it is advisable to call before you arrive to find out if there is enough compost on the site at the time and to plan the most convenient time to arrive.
Compost costs €12 per tonne.
